چکیده

Abstract This paper concerns an investigation on six large-scale Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) beams tested in pure torsion. All had longitudinal rebars to facilitate the well-known space truss resisting mechanism. However, order promote economic use of material, transverse reinforcement (i.e. stirrups/links) was varied large scale beams. The latter contained either no stirrups, or minimum amount (according Eurocode 2), hooked-end steel fibers (25 50 kg/m 3 ). Material characterization were also carried out determine performance parameters SFRC. results this study show that SFRC with a post-cracking class greater than 2c Model Code 2010) is able completely substitute required for In fact, addition contributes significantly increase maximum torque and twist when compared same specimen without fibers. Moreover, provides rather high stiffness steadier development cracking process as classical RC elements. phenomenon improves beam behavior at serviceability limit state. experimental are critically discussed available analytical models well other tests into literature.

A Review on Strengthening Steel Beams Using FRP under Fatigue

In recent decades, the application of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites for strengthening structural elements has become an efficient option to meet the increased cyclic loads or repair due to corrosion or fatigue cracking. Hence, the objective of this study is to explore the existing FRP reinforcing techniques to care for fatigue damaged structural steel elements. This study covers the...

experimental and numerical investigation of replacing steel stirrups with frp rebars concrete in beams

today, corrosion in reinforcements is an important issue in many structures, especially those made in off-shore, resulting of reduction of the structural capacity under gravitational and lateral loads. using frp polymer can reduce this effect to some extents. a numerical and experimental investigation has been conducted on three different concrete beams to find out the effect of replacing steel...

Reinforcement Learning with Replacing Eligibility

The eligibility trace is one of the basic mechanisms used in reinforcement learning to handle delayed reward. In this paper we introduce a new kind of eligibility trace, the replacing trace, analyze it theoretically, and show that it results in faster, more reliable learning than the conventional trace. Both kinds of trace assign credit to prior events according to how recently they occurred, b...

High Strength Concrete Columns under Axial Compression Load: Hybrid Confinement Efficiency of High Strength Transverse Reinforcement and Steel Fibers

Addition of steel fibers to high strength concrete (HSC) improves its post-peak behavior and energy absorbing capability, which can be described well in term of toughness. This paper attempts to obtain both analytically and experimentally the efficiency of steel fibers in HSC columns with hybrid confinement of transverse reinforcement and steel fibers. Toughness ratio (TR) to quantify the confi...

Effects of Reinforcement Geometry on Strength and Stiffness in Adhesively Bonded Steel-Timber Flexural Beams

A finite element model is developed to analyse, as a function of volume fraction, the effects of reinforcement geometry and arrangement within a timber beam. The model is directly validated against experimental equivalents and found to never be mismatched by more than 8% in respect to yield strength predictions. Yield strength increases linearly as a function of increasing reinforcement volume ...
